Márton Ágh

Born in Hungary in 1972. He studied at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and is now a well-known art director, production designer, set and costume designer working in the film, theatre and opera scene.

In film he was the production director of Peter Greenaway, in The Tulse Luper Suitcases. In theatre and opera, he’s collaborating with the biggest Hungarian directors like Kornél Mundruczó and Árpád Schilling in Hungary, both also abroad. With former he is also working together on films, like Delta (2008), Tender Son - The Frankenstein Project (2010) or White God (2014).

He did the set design of all of the PROTON THEATRE productions directed by Kornél Mundruczó and won several awards with it: Best set design for Disgrace in 2013 and for Imitation of Life in 2017 at the National Theatre Festival of Hungary. Besides for Imitation of Life he also received the Hungarian Theatre Critic’s Award in 2016.

For Kornél Mundruczó’s latest film Jupiter’s Moon which premiered in the official competition of Cannes, he received the Hungarian Film Award for the best production design in 2018.
